Frozen Peanut Butter Blueberry Dog Treats

With summer just around the corner, your dog deserves a frosty treat. Homemade frozen dog treats are not only super easy to make, but they’re a fun way to keep your dog hydrated and cool. These treats are made with natural ingredients and are full of healthy, antioxidant rich berries for a nutritious snack that's so delicious your furry four-legged family member will be wagging his or her tail for more.

Healthy and Natural Frozen Peanut Butter Blueberry Dog Treats

Ingredients

Peanut Butter Layer

  • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter (natural peanut butter with no added sugar or salt is best for dogs)*

  • ¾ cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 2 Tbsp honey

Blueberry Layer

  • ½ blueberries (frozen or fresh)

  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt, divided


Directions

Peanut Butter Layer

  1. Add the peanut butter, yogurt, and honey to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.

  2. Spoon the mixture into the molds of your choice or use ice cube trays filling each cup halfway. Gently tap the molds on the counter to release any air bubbles.

  3. Place the molds in the freezer for 30 minutes to set the bottom layer.

Blueberry Layer

  1. Add the blueberries and yogurt to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.

  2. Spoon the mixture into the molds on top of the bottom layer until the mold cups are full. Gently tap the molds on the counter to release any air bubbles.

  3. Place the molds back in freezer and let freeze at least 8 hours, or overnight.


To serve, remove the molds from the freezer and let stand for 1-2 minutes. Tap the molds on the counter to loosen, then turn out. If you have any trouble, quickly run the molds under warm water to help the treats release, then turn out.


*NOTE: Be sure to check your peanut butter for xylitol, which is extremely toxic to dogs.
