Ingredients

Oreo Dirt Pudding Trifle

  • 1 (14.3 oz) package Oreo cookies (I bought the 19.1 oz Family Size, but didn't use all of the cookies)

  • 1 (3.9 oz) package instant chocolate pudding

  • 1 (3.9 oz) package instant vanilla pudding

  • 3½ cups whole milk

  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, room temperature

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, room temperature

  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar, sifted

  • 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping, thawed (like Cool Whip)

  • Gummy worms

Directions

  1. Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs using a food processor. Alternatively, you can place the cookies into a resealable plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Set aside.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together both boxes of pudding with the milk for about 2 minutes. Let the pudding sit for 5 minutes to thicken.

  3. In a separate large bowl, use an electric handheld mixer, beat together the cream cheese and butter on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Reduce the speed to low and add the confectioners' sugar. Then gradually increase the speed to medium and beat until light and fluffy.

  4. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold the cream cheese mixture into the pudding. Then gently fold in the whipped topping until completely incorporated.

  5. For assembly, layer the dessert in a trifle bowl with alternating layers of crushed Oreos and pudding mixture, beginning and ending with the Oreos. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, then decorate with gummy worms just before serving.

Although America’s favorite cookie is delicious on its own or dipped in milk, Oreos are exponentially better when added to recipes to create outrageously delicious confections. Check out Barth Bakery’s collection of recipes crafted with Oreo cookies.
